Mr. Lai is forty-eight years old and is living with his wife and kids. He suffered from a spinal injury a few years ago, resulting in paralysis of both lower limbs and left arm. Although he could manage feeding, grooming, toileting with his right hand, he needed assistance in other aspects of transfer, such as dressing and bathing, which are done by the help of his wife. However, his wife is suffering from arthritis in both hands, and demonstrates difficulty in assisting Mr. Lai’s tasks and outdoor activities in daily life. Thus, A.J.R. has kindly supported his funding for purchasing of a wheelchair, in hopes to encourage Mr. Lai to have more outdoor activities and to improve his quality of life.
